First of all, I almost didn't go. Seriously. But Justin (my brother) called me out for even thinking about staying home. My lack of enthusiasm was mostly due to a combination of "been there, done that", "it's too late on a Sunday", "Julia will be there", the cost (over $50 for GA), and of course Cristie's decision not to go (she's a wimp). Anyway, I'm glad I went.
Doors opened at 8:00 PM. I showed up at 8:05 PM. Found a scalper and got a ticket for $30. Kristeen Young opened, and she was a lot better than many previous choices. Mozzer was very talkative --gave his drummer shit about Alien Ant Farm. It was very hot inside. Julia did not cause any problems. I did speak with her after the show. T-shirts were $35. Read here for more detail.
My pictures are here.
I'm only offering two videos, as the sound is terrible in all of them. Open these with Quicktime or RealPlayer and turn down your volume:
Morrissey also played a series of videos before he came on. The New York Dolls smoking pot after a show, James Dean modeling clothes for East Of Eden (see pics for a still shot), Brigitte Bardot doing "Bubble Gum" (YouTube) and Sacha Distel doing "Ou Ca Ou Ca" (YouTube).
