Position Statement: Arctic Monkeys

I'm tired of answering this question, and Under The Radar said it best:
"...After reading all the rabid and irrational acclaim that this album has received, don't be surprised if you're left scratching your head in confusion and disbelief when you finally hear the damn thing. While this album certainly has it's sporadic catchy and promising moments, Arctic Monkeys are not, I repeat, not the future of music and have little new or original to offer to the world. Musically, they are simply a second-rate Franz Ferdinand or Libertines. The band's uninspired lyrics have been acclaimed for their witty take on British teenage life, but if you want commentary on Britain, then the likes of Mike Skinner, Morrissey, Ray Davies, Damon Albarn and Jarvis Cocker have all done it so much better. For a classic debut album that humorously tackles British teenage life, seek out Supergrass' I Should Coco instead.
